The new Barnes & Noble Nook device has been dissectedby some industrious hackers. What they found is that the entire system software—a variation of Android 1.5—was installed on a microSD card. What this means is that another industrious hacker is likely to be able to “jailbreak” the Nook, opening it up to all kinds of customizations, such as adding full Web surfing and tethering capabilities.
