What's the BuzzDoes your company have a social media policy? Maybe you should check. While we often rely on social media to build our professional network and discuss issues with customers and colleagues, websites like Twitter and Facebook also offer a tempting forum for airing public complaints and outrage. Mashable.com reports that 8% of US companies have fired people for their activities on social media sites. Don’t be one of those people.

Nevertheless, plenty of us are still using social media for professional purposes and not getting fired. TechCrunch tells us that LinkedIn has reached 45 million users. That benchmark was announced via Twitter on Tuesday night. Here’s a tip: Consider joining the groups on LinkedIn, as some have great discussions and interesting members.
