Boersenblatt reports that Gruner + Jahr CEO Bernd Buchholz has been named to Bertelsmann’s Executive Board. He will continue as CEO of G+J and will receive no additional compensation for this new role. After a short stint in politics, Buchholz worked for G+J in various capacities starting in the late 1990s and has been CEO since the beginning of this year.
Following the US Justice Department’s announcement earlier this month that it had launched an official investigation into the Google Book Settlement, the German Consulate in New York has hired a law firm to write an “amicus curiae” letter detailing the German government’s concerns about the settlement, reports the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (via Buchmarkt).
