At the 60th Bologna trade fair, the closely watched Best Children’s Publishers of the Year awards are named in six world regions.
The 2023 Bologna Ragazzi Awards, which honors illustrated children’s books, attracted 2,349 entries from 644 publishers in 59 countries.
In its 10th round, the Bologna Prize for Best Children’s Publishers of the Year covers six regions.
With 14 jurors having worked their way through 2,215 submissions from 61 countries, the 2022 Bologna Ragazzi Award winners are announced.
The winners of this year’s publishing-house awards are based in Tanzania, Switzerland, Iran, the United States, Colombia, and New Zealand.
The contest drew 1,577 entries from 41 countries. Seven nations are represented among the winners, the United Kingdom with two wins.
Ediciones Ekaré editor Adolfo Córdova wins, with Juan Palomino’s illustrations. And the jury spots four special mentions, as well.
The more than 1,500 titles submitted for the Bologna Ragazzi awards program this year represent the work of authors and illustrators in key trends and issues.
