Winners’ Event: March 28
By now quite familiar to Publishing Perspectives readers, the Audio Publishers Association‘s annual Audie Awards have announced their winners’ ceremony to be set for March 28 this year, streamed online from Chelsea Piers’ Sixty in New York City.

In a departure this year, there’s no word in the company’s media messaging about who is to host that event.

The program this year has added yet another category, going from 25 to 26 divisions of recognitions in the popular audiobook space.

The Association of American Publishers‘ (AAP) 2022 StatShot report, sales of downloaded audio in the United States were up 7.0 percent, at US$839.5 million. In the previous year, 2021, it had risen 13.4 percent to reach $766.2 million. In 2022, the format maintained a 9.2-percent share of the market, roughly comparable to its share in previous years’ StatShot reports.
