Surender Pathak’s 300th Novel Tops Fiction

Nielsen BookScan and the Hindi language newspaper Dainik Jagran, in association with Sahitya Akademi, the National Academy of Letters, released today (August 9) India’s Hindi bestseller lists for the first quarter of 2019. Pulp fiction master Surender Mohan Pathak’s 300th novel Qahar (Hind Pocket Books) led the fiction category, with Ashok Kumar Pandey’s Kashmirnama (Raipal & Sons) leading the nonfiction list.

The breakdown is for the months of April to June, with the Hindu calendar normally starting its year on or around the spring equinox, and the Hindi bestseller lists comprise fiction, nonfiction, translation, and poetry.
