Here’s how the campaign works: through August 31st, local booksellers are handing out stickers to their customers that say “Buch an Board!” (Book on Board). Just stick it on your suitcase and Condor will allow an extra kilo of weight in your hand luggage. You’ll be set for that lovely book-heavy holiday you’ve been looking forward to! All bookseller members of the German Publishers and Booksellers Association received stickers and window signs to promote the campaign.
In addition, Vorsicht! Buch and Condor are giving away a free flight for two to Ibiza on Facebook. You can enter to win simply by liking the giveaway announcement.
Alexander Skipis, Managing Director of the German Booksellers and Publishers Association, says of this initiative: “Each year more than seven million people travel with Condor to Asia, Africa, America and beautiful holiday destinations all over Europe. Those who want to immerse themselves in these foreign cultures also rely on reading. And your bookseller knows which books are the right fit for you and your holiday destination. It’s worth it to take an extra kilo of books in your luggage.”
Vorsicht! Buch is a marketing initiative administered by the German Publishers and Booksellers Association. It launched in 2013 with the goal of strengthening the country’s book trade and building enthusiasm for books and reading in Germany.
Condor Airlines is celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2016 with a dedicated website and a number of new initiatives to celebrate. You can find out more at http://60jahre.condor.com.
