PRESS RELEASE, Frankfurt, 29/04/2015 — If you’re creative and would like to present your products at the largest book fair in the world for the first time, here’s your big chance: the Frankfurt Book Fair Wildcard! All you have to do is answer three questions at www.book-fair.com/wildcard. What’s more, participants can publicize their submissions with the hashtag #wildcardFBM.
Markus Gogolin (Director of Marketing and Communications DACH for the Frankfurt Book Fair) explains the campaign’s background and what companies the Wildcard Award is looking for: “What we mean by publishing has changed fundamentally as a result of digitization. There are new actors in the content market — start-ups, for example, that offer similar products as the book industry. It’s these new players that we want to reach through this low-threshold competition. What’s important for winning the Wildcard award is that you tell an original story about your product. In this way, the Frankfurt Book Fair wishes to reward innovative marketing ideas in publishing by giving them a stand and presenting them to the world.”
As part of the Frankfurt Book Fair’s contest, participants may win an 8-square-meter stand (8-square-meter inline booth incl. environmental and energy fees, marketing flat rate, “M Furniture & Light” package and ten trade visitor tickets). All companies that have never exhibited at the Frankfurt Book Fair are eligible for participation. Any companies affiliated in any way with a company that is or has been an exhibitor at the Frankfurt Book Fair may not participate. The deadline for participation in the competition is 30 May 2015.
To participate, visit www.book-fair.com/wildcard and answer the following three questions:
- Why is it important that your company exhibit at the Frankfurt Book Fair?
- How would you publicize your participation in the fair?
- How would you design your stand?
The winner will be chosen by a jury of the Exhibition and Trade Fair Ltd. of the German Publishers and Booksellers Association (Ausstellungs- und Messe GmbH des Börsenvereins des Deutschen Buchhandels, or “AuM”) and will be notified by email by 3 June 2015. Following this notification, the AuM will send the winner all relevant documents for participation in the Frankfurt Book Fair. The award is non-transferable.
By participating, participants confirm that they hold all rights to the submitted/posted text/image, and that they have permission to submit/post it for the contest. Where third-party rights exist, participants confirm that they have been granted all rights to participate in this contest and, if necessary, can provide written confirmation thereof. The use of someone else’s images/texts from the Internet is thus not permitted without the prior consent of the copyright holders.
Any recourse to courts of law is excluded.
