The fifth annual Festival Neue Literatur will take place this year between February 28 and March 2 in New York City with the mission of introducing “New Writing from Austria, Germany, Switzerland and the U.S.”
The festival includes a series of readings, panel discussions and a “literary brunch” with this year’s participating authors:

- Abbas Khider (Germany)
- Melinda Nadj Abonji (Switzerland)
- Richard Weihe (Switzerland)
- Monique Truong (USA)
- Keith Gessen (USA)
At the opening ceremony of Festival Neue Literatur on February 27, the Friedrich Ulfers Prize for “the advancement of German-language literature in the United States” will be awarded to Sara Bershtel, publisher of Metropolitan Books for introducing many German authors to English-speaking readers.

Festival Neue Literatur is organized by Austrian Cultural Forum, Columbia University, Deutsches Haus at NYU, German Book Office New York, German Consulate New York, Goethe Institut, Prohelvetia and the Swiss Consulate in New York.
