Those of you who work in the publishing world know the business of writing, editing, reviewing and selling books is a both reward and a challenge. At times, just surviving can be a feat. So when we come across someone who thrives in the world of publishing, we take notice. And when that same person takes on greater responsibilities, carrying their passion and vision into selfless projects of altruism, we admire and appreciate them. Our occasional series of profiles¬†“Publishing People We Appreciate” celebrates those very people. Today, we profile Jennifer Brown of Shelf Awareness.

Is there someone you think is particularly special, who goes out of their way to improve the lives of others, who has accomplished something extraordinary, or simply deserves acknowledgement for a consistent job well done? Let us know. Send us an email.

We can’t all win Oscars, but we can enjoy the a few moments in the limelight.
