Calling all US and Canadian English-language children’s books editors and publishers! The German Book Office New York (GBO) invites you to apply a seven-day Editors’ Trip to Germany. The trip will take place June 10-16, 2012. Thanks to the support of the Frankfurt Book Fair and the Foreign Office Berlin, the costs of your flight, hotels, transportation within Germany and most meals will be covered.
Click here to apply. The application deadline is March 1, 2012.
Trip participants will have the opportunity to network with German publishing professionals and discuss trends in Germany’s YA and children’s books publishing market. We will meet with editors, publishers and rights directors in Germany, as well as visit publishers’ offices and a bookstore or library. Discussions will include topics like young adult fiction, children’s nonfiction, picture books, and of course, the rapidly evolving role of social media, apps and e-books. Don’t miss your chance to participate in this dynamic adventure!
We reserve the right to select six children’s book professionals from the pool of the applications for this Editor’s Trip.
