Italy’s first e-book conference – IfBookThen — is taking place this February 3rd in beautiful Milan. If you register by the end of the day today, you pay just €252 — instead of the €350 tag applies at 12:01 a.m. Saturday. If you’re curious about this new event, you can find the program and line-up of speakers here. Several contributors to Publishing Perspectives will be speaking, including Mike Shatzkin, Richard Nash, James Brantley and James Bridle. Others offering presentations include:

  • Simon Blackock (Faber & Faber, Faber Factory) – UK
  • Patxi Beascoa (Random House – Mondadori) – Spain
  • Hannes Eder (Publit) – Sweden
  • Erik Ritgers (Ebook) – Netherlands
  • Sebastian Posth (Bic Media) – Germany
  • Marco Ferrario (Bookrepublic) – Italy

I’ll be there as well to help out as a moderator and report back on all the goings-on. Organizer Marco Ghezzi of Italian e-bookseller Bookrepublic.it reports that attendees have registered from across the Continent.

“It’s the first event of it’s kind in Italy and one of the few e-book specific events in Europe,” said Ghezzi, “so it represents a unique opportunity to learn from some of the time minds in the industry.”
