Though Germany has generally maintained its financial health during the global economic crisis (at least in comparison to the US and some other parts of Europe), books dealing with the global financial crisis are still dominating business book bestseller lists in Germany. According to Buchreport, eight of the current top 15 business books deal with the crisis and its aftermath. However, fewer and fewer of these bestsellers are coming from the publishers who traditionally specialize in business books. Nine of the top-15 titles are the work of general trade publishing houses. The one title that has had real staying power on the business list is Tim Ferriss’ The 4-Hour Workweek, which was published back in 2008.
