NEW YORK: Today, Publishing Perspectives and Kirkus Media LLC announced a deal to create a joint print edition at this year’s Book Expo America. The edition will be published on Wednesday, May 26, and bring together the ground-breaking international news reporting of Publishing Perspectives with the long history of exceptional review coverage of Kirkus.

“We’re thrilled to be working with Publishing Perspectives on this edition,” said Jerome Kramer, Kirkus’s acting publisher. “This is an excellent demonstration of the kinds of new initiatives Kirkus and Kirkus Discoveries have been working on since the company was acquired by Kirkus Media LLC earlier this year. We’re going to bring the kind of authoritative book and book-review coverage to the partnership that has been our hallmark for nearly 80 years.”

Publishing Perspectives is an international publishing e-magazine which delivers daily stories about the industry from the innovators who are shaping the future of the business, as well as, news and links from around the Web and the world. Introduced at last year’s Book Expo America, Publishing Perspectives offers daily email and Web editions, and has quickly become a daily read for publishing professionals in 159 countries, a number that continues to grow. In addition, Publishing Perspectives has published special print editions at select book conferences around the world, including the Beijing Book Fair, the Bienal do Livro Rio and The Frankfurt Book Fair.

“In less than a year, we have established a reputation as a go-to source for comprehensive international trade news, coverage of cutting edge digital publishing, and some of the most thoughtful and provocative opinion writing in the business, said Edward Nawotka, Editor-in-Chief for Publishing Perspectives. Together with Kirkus, we have a great team.”

The print edition will reach readers at BEA, both in the Javits Center and elsewhere in New York, as well Kirkus and Publishing Perspectives subscribers at home and abroad via a PDF edition.
