Mobile Self-publishing Platform XinXii Launches in Russia

By Alex Mutter

German self-publishing platform XinXii, which gives indie authors access to mobile e-book shops, has gone live in Russia.

XinXii’s arrangement with digital content management company Monida Media, which Publishing Perspectives discussed back in September, allows self-published authors to put their work on a number of digital shops, with the focus being on smartphones. Through XinXii, authors have access to the e-book stores of Vodafine live!, T-Mobile T-Zones, Sony Mobile PlayNow and those of its other distribution partners.

“Russia is a very interesting market for self-publishing due to its culture and size,” said Dr. Andrea Schober, Founder and CEO of XinXii, in a press release. “The potential lies not just in the fact that we offer indie authors and self-publishers in Russia an unprecedented access to new opportunities and leading international [e-book] shops, but also an engine of exciting development.”

Although based in Berlin, XinXii sees itself as broadly European, and plans to continue expanding its service across the continent to markets both mature and undeveloped.
