Invite Recap: Will I See You On the Party Circuit at BEA?
May 21, 2010
By Erin L. Cox
On May 5th, I wrote a blog post shamelessly asking for Book Expo America party invites. I have been asked for some follow-up, so I wanted to let you know that two weeks later, I have a few real party invites and a few reminders to come to big events/soirees. With just a few days left until BEA, I want to hear what other parties are going on and what you’re looking forward to (and if you can sneak me in!).
MONDAY:
Literati-a-Go-Go and National Book Critics Circle shindig– The unstoppable David Nudo has joined forces with the National Book Critics Circle to bring us yet another par-tay you can’t miss.
WEDNESDAY:
The New York Times — The ol’ Book Review never goes wrong with a party…this is a can’t miss!
Feminist Press – Happy Hour at Happy Endings with some brilliant ladies, what more could a girl ask for?
BEA’s Tweet-Up –Last year’s Tweet-Up was a huge success…but don’t listen to me, follow them @beatweetup.
THURSDAY:
Open Letter/Melville House: Alejandro Zambra is doubly-celebrated by his publishers Open Letter (publisher of the forthcoming THE PRIVATE LIVES OF TREES) and Melville House (publisher of BONSAI). Chad Post, Open Letter Publisher and regular contributor to PP (and friend), knows how to throw a good shindig.
GoodReads Pub Crawl — Starting at Housing Works, the pub crawl takes us around downtown and, with any hope, will get me a cab at the end of the night to get home.
Are there any other parties I should hit? I’ll be wearing my party shoes…and will tweet from all of the parties to let you know what’s going on and how things are fairing. Follow me @pubperspectives.
