E-booksellers Ciando, txtr Add Publishers, Titles

German e-book retailer ciando has sealed deals with publishers Droemer Knaur, Fischer, Kiepenheuer & Witsch and Rowohlt to make 1,300 of their fiction and non-fiction e-book titles available on both of its platforms: www.ciando.com and www.bookson.de. As reported in a press release from ciando, the books will all be available in EPUB format. The new partnerships will allow ciando to build upon the 35,000 new releases and backlist titles already available in its e-book shops.
Meanwhile, according to BuchMarkt, Berlin-based txtr has inked a distribution deal with Verlagsgruppe Random House to make 2,400 of the publishing group’s e-book titles available for download in the txtr store. The store now has 20,000 titles available in EPUB format. The agreement could be a boon for the soon-to-be-released txtr e-reader
