bxlogoSince its introduction last year, BookRix.de — a platform for authors and readers to publish and read free of charge — has added social networking features, added the ability to create audio books, and has made some 10,000 e-books available to read free of charge online. In addition, BookRix now offer over 8,000 e-books for free download in open EPUB-Format, reports BuchMarkt. So far, the site has attracted 30,000 registered users.

It may be the first time in history that a book has been advertised on the outside of a soccer stadium, but Hoffmann und Campe has placed an ad for its centenary history of St. Pauli football club — 100 Jahre FC St. Pauli (100 Years of FC St. Pauli) outside the club’s stadium in Hamburg. Less surprising is the news, in the Boersenblatt, that authors Christoph Nagel and Michael Pahl, along with the VP and players from FC St. Pauli, will also be attending the Frankfurt Book Fair.
