May 29, 2009
By Edward Nawotka
BEA’s Buzz Panel is one of the highlights of the first day of events. It offers top editors have the chance to plug one of their forthcoming titles and make a case for why it should be a future bestseller.
This year’s panel included Deb Futter, v-p and editor-in-chief, Grand Central Publishing talking about Leila Meacham’s Roses, Paul Elie, editor at FSG, discussing Michael Sandel’s Justice, and Robert Weil, executive editor at W.W. Norton, touting David Small’s Stitches.
Below, editor Alexis Gargagliano of Scribner discusses what it was like to be part of this year’s panel, as well as her chosen book, Alex Lemon’s Happy.
